The Interim Women’s Champion Chelsea Green recently spoke to Complex Graps and revealed a funny conversation with Triple H. Green was asked if she ever considered making a change to her WWE character. Chelsea revealed that she had a conversation with WWE creative head Triple H about becoming a serious performer, but she quickly realized that it won’t be happening:
“About a year ago, I had a conversation with Hunter. We sat down and talked about me going in a more serious direction. Literally the next week, I was put in a comedy spot that lasted like 30 seconds, and I was pinned. I’m like, ‘Well, I fear we’re here to stay.’ And him and I never spoke about it again.
It’s such a funny conversation to think about because we were like, ‘Yeah, and I’ll stop doing this, and I’ll stop doing that, and I’ll look more serious, and I’ll be more serious, and I’ll do my moves.’ And then I literally believe I went and took the Jaded. So, you know, I feel like I found my niche. I found my lane. And, like, why did I try to get out of the lane? The lane works. It’s my lane. I made the lane. I’m going to stay in the lane.
And I invite others to come in and try it. But at the end of the day, I know that what I do, I do it better than anyone else. And that’s why it works. And that’s why people believe it. And that’s why they turned me babyface naturally, because everyone was like, ‘Wait, this is so stupid… we like it. She’s so annoying. We like it.’”
The match Chelsea Green mentions took place during the April 8, 2024 episode of Raw. Making her in-ring debut for the brand, Jade Cargill picked up the victory over Green in under a minute.
