AEW star Adam Copeland was on the ground helping FEMA in their rescue efforts.
The recent weather calamities have devasted many regions in America. Both Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton have caused widespread destruction and fatalities in countries such as the US, Mexico, and Cuba.
Various wrestling promotions and individual talents have come forward to assist rescue efforts by donating money directly or running charity shows to collect funds.
During a recent media call to promote the WrestleDream PPV event AEW President Tony Khan revealed that Copeland actually went a step further. Khan recalled having a conversation with Copeland while trying to put together a show, and realizing that the wrestling veteran was actually on the ground assisting Hurricane Helene relief efforts:
“Adam called me, backstage at Collision and he was with the FEMA workers and he was with them and he was helping them and they were digging [dead] bodies out.”
Tony Khan himself has also been active in assisting authorities and it was revealed during a recent Busted Open podcast that he donated Starlink devices to local police in Asheville to help them stay connected.
Adam Copeland has been out of action since the Double or Nothing PPV in May. He competed in a steel cage match against Malakai Black and suffered a fractured tibia during a high-risk spot in the bout.
AEW will be holding the WrestleDream PPV from Tacoma Dome in Washington this Saturday, October 12. You can check out the updated match card for the show here.
