AEW star Britt Baker has provided a health update after missing her scheduled match on this past Tuesday’s episode of Dynamite.
The female star was set to take on Willow Nightingale in a #1 Contenders match for the Women’s World Championship at the show. Tony Khan announced a few hours before the episode however, that Baker was unable to make the event due to an illness.
In a new video on Twitter/X, Britt Baker revealed that she is actually dealing with strep throat. The former Women’s World Champion thankfully noted that she is doing much better now compared to how she was feeling a couple days ago:
“I still have a strep throt, but I sound way worse than I actually feel. I feel so much better now. Two days ago, I was dying, but now we’re good. I went to urgent care, got tested for strep, took antibiotics, got an IV shot. I’m good.”

Britt Baker also went off on conspiracy theorists spreading misinformation about Hurricane Milton. The AEW star revealed that she was stuck in Orlando during the weather calamity.
Since the wrestling star expected to be in Washington for the AEW tapings, she didn’t stock up on Emergency supplies. By the time she realized that she wouldn’t be able to travel, supply for all essential items had run out and she was left stranded without gas or water.
In the absence of Baker, the #1 Contenders Match was converted into a fatal four way. Nightingale took on Saraya, Nyla Rose, and Jamie Hayter in the bout and defeated all three. She will now challenge Mariah May for the Women’s title at WrestleDream on October 12.
