WWE Superstar CM Punk has landed a role in the upcoming indie horror film ‘Night Patrol‘ directed by Ryan Prows.
Hollywood Reporter broke the news confirming that Justin Long, Jermaine Fowler, and RJ Cyler will be starring in lead roles. While Punk and Dermot Mulroney are said to have ‘key roles’ in the movie.
The film follows the story of an LAPD officer played by Fowler. The police officer discovers that a local police task force is hiding a horrific secret and he must work with the area’s street gangs to take care of it.
The movie has already finished principal photography and the crew is eying a 2025 release for it. According to a statement from Prows, the movie is going to surprise the audiences:
“Audiences are not ready for how hard this movie goes. To shoot this script, with this cast, on location in Los Angeles, after such a long path to get here is nothing short of a dream,”
This is not the only acting project CM Punk has gotten involved with in recent times. He started in a Horror film titled Girl On The Third Floor in 2019 and played the part of the wrestler Ricky Rabies in pro wrestling drama series Heels from 2021 to 2023.
The former WWE champion had most recently been involved in an intense rivalry with fellow WWE star Drew McIntyre. After picking a win each over the other, their feud concluded at the Bad Blood PPV on October 5, where Punk defeated McIntyre in a Hell In A Cell match.
The Straight Edge Star announced after the show that he’ll be taking some time off from wrestling after the PPV. There is no word on when he’ll make his return to the promotion.
