AEW presented the Grand Slam special of their flag show Dynamite from the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. With announced matches such as Darby Allin vs Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness, fans were already excited for the show. Apart from these, we also got a surprise debut of a former WWE champion. Here are the complete highlights and results of the episode:

  • Singles Match – Nigel McGuinness vs. Bryan Danielson: Nigel comes out first. Bryan’s music plays but he doesn’t come out. McGuinness then tells the referee to count Bryan out but his music plays again and the AEW World Champion finally makes his way to the ring. In the end, Danielson managed to make his opponent tap out using the LeBell Lock. Christian Cage comes out with his contract for the AEW title. Before he can sign the contract, however, Kip Sabian sneaks from behind and takes away the pen. Sabian runs into Claudio Castagnoli and PAC in Gorilla on his way back.
  • FTW Championship Match – HOOK (c) vs. Roderick Strong: HOOK won the match via tap out after locking his opponent in Redrum. The two stars shake each other’s hands after the match. Tony Schiavone brings a mic and HOOK announces that he is retiring the FTW title.
  • AEW World Tag Team Championship Match – The Young Bucks (c) vs. Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher: The match had fast-paced action as expected. The ending sequence saw Don Callis making an appearance at the ringside. He handed a screwdriver to Fletcher but Ospreay stopped him from using it. Nicholas Jackson then hit Fletcher the AEW tag team title belt. The Bucks then delivered the EVP Trigger for the win. Fletcher and Ospreay shared a tense look after the match.
  • Prince Nana Promo: Tony Schiavone asked Nana about the status of Swerve Strickland. Nana mentions that the former AEW World Champion is working hard but is not cleared to compete yet. MVP makes his debut and apologizes to Schiavone for interrupting. He says that Swerve’s World Championship run will be studied for generations. The former WWE star claims that Strickland’s recent shortcomings are because Prince Nana and hands him a card to pass along to the former champion.
  • AEW Women’s Championship – Mariah May (c) vs. Yuka Sakazaki: May won the match with Storm Zero. Willow Nightingale got into the ring after the bout to confront the Women’s Champion. Mina Shirakawa’s music hit and May attacked Nightingale when she got distracted by it. Mariah May ends the segment celebrating her win with Shirakawa.
  • Singles Match – Darby Allin vs. Jon Moxley: The main event of the show saw some both stars taking some brutal punishment. At one point, Mox exposed the concrete at the ringside and Allin went crashing into it. In the end Marina Shafir distracted Allin which allowed Jon to pick up the win. Bryan Danielson comes out of nowhere and chokes Moxley with a band. Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli, and PAC start beating down Danielson but Private Party and Komander even the odds. Bryan sets up for the Busaiku Knee but the heels retreat. Bryan and the others stand tall to end the show.
