WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix has confirmed that she is no longer under a contract with WWE and free to sign with any other promotion.

The wrestling veteran recently appeared on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast to discuss her wrestling career in detail. She touched on topics such as taking an RKO from Randy Orton, her partnership with Santino Marella and more.

When asked about her current status with WWE, Phoenix confirmed previous reports that her contract with the company has expired and presently she is a free agent:

“I’m not, I am currently a free agent. I have a great relationship with WWE. I treasured my time there. I feel like there is more and other opportunities that have presented themselves and I feel the motivation now to explore and explore what else is out there and explore myself.

Though the former Women’s Champion stressed that her relationship with the company has not changed and she remains on good terms with the officials:

“My relationship with WWE hasn’t changed. I have so many friends there and I appreciate and enjoy the product as I always have. I love NXT. I have a special place in my heart for NXT and the system. Seeing people come up and go through that excitement of developing themselves for the big time. I love WWE. I always will.”

Beth Phoenix originally signed with WWE back in May 2004 and she made her main roster debut on May 8, 2006 as an ally of Trish Stratus.

She went on to have a successful run in WWE winning 4 different titles during her 6-year career. She feuded with legendary names such as Mickie James, Melina, and Michelle McCool during her active years. Phoenix was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017.

Adam Copeland, the husband of the former Divas Champion is currently a part of the AEW roster. Her free agency makes it possible for Beth Phoenix to make an appearance for Tony Khan’s company if she chooses.
