Bobby Lashley Confirms He Is Not Retiring From Wrestling After WWE Departure

Bobby Lashley’s second WWE run may have come to an end but that doesn’t mean he is leaving pro wrestling. If anything, he is looking to pick up even more things to keep him busy.

The former WWE Champion had been rumored to be leaving the promotion for a few weeks. WWE made his departure official by moving Lashley to the alumni section on their website on August 16.

The 48-year-old appeared on The Bo and Them Show after his exit from the company. When asked what’s next for him, Bobby Lashley said that he is doing it all because you only live once:

“I’m doing it all. You only live once. I have a lot of gas left in the tank. I’m in great shape. I feel good. I’m motivated, I’m rested. Wrestling, yes. Boxing, yes. MMA, yes. Acting, yes. Everything, yes. I have a lot of different things going on right now. My non-profit, working with kids. I love doing that and working with kids. I want to give back.”

The wrestling veteran seems to be planning for his life after retirement from combat sports as well with some business opportunities. Though it doesn’t mean he is hanging up his boots anytime soon:

“I do a lot of real estate. I’ve been linking with some real estate professionals (in Texas) to bring some of my properties here and doing work here. Wrestling, I still want to wrestle. I love wrestling. The fans are writing me every day, ‘When are you coming back? Where are you going? We want to be there for you.’ I love the fans,”

Bobby Lashley made his return to WWE after a 10-year hiatus on Raw after WrestleMania back in 2018. The former ECW Champion set his eyes on the world championship after his comeback.

During his second run, the heavyweight star finally achieved what he couldn’t achieve during his first run with the company. He became a world champion by winning the WWE title during the March 1, 2021 episode of Raw.

Lashley carried the belt through the pandemic era and he was one of the faces that kept the programming going while the rest of the world was shut down.

He won the world title a second time in early 2022 but this reign was much shorter. He had been featured less and less in recent times, and the company finally decided not to extend his contract due to their renewed focus on building new stars.
