The team of Andre Chase and Ridge Holland collectively known as Chase U have become the new NXT Tag Team Champions after defeating the duo of Nathan Frazer and Axiom on the August 13 episode of NXT.
The match was the main event of the latest episode of WWE’s Development Brand and the two teams gave it all in a hard-fought bout.
The ending of the match saw Andre Chase knocking Frazer off the top rope, taking him out of the bout. Axiom hit Chase with a Golden Ratio in return but Holland, who was the legal man used a clothesline and a slam to pick up the victory for his team.
After the bout, Thea Hail, Riley Osborne, and Duke Hudson joined Chase U in the ring to celebrate the victory. The show ended with confetti raining down for the new champions.
The title change ends Axiom and Frazer’s 127 days reign with the belts. They won the championship during the April 9 episode of the show earlier this year, where they beat Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin for the title.
This is the second time Chase U have captured the NXT tag titles. This is also the first WWE title for Ridge Holland since joining the company in 2018, as Andre previously won the title with Duke Hudson.
This isn’t the only title that changed hands during the show as Charlie Dempsey also beat Tony D’Angelo to regain the NXT Heritage Cup Championship during the episode.
The 2 out of 3 falls match ended with Charlie pinning Tony with a Butterfly Suplex Pin for the decisive fall. D’Angelo’s run with the cup ends at 92 days.
