Cody Rhodes has invited Greyson Waller for a ‘chat’ on this Friday’s episode of SmackDown in response to a tweet from the Australian star.
The former NXT star posted a photo of The American Nightmare and Kevin Owens from their confrontation on last week’s episode of SmackDown.
In the caption, he interestingly noted that Cody is actually the villain in his story. The Undisputed WWE Champion responded with a tweet of his own, inviting the 34-year-old to find out how much of a villain he really is in the first person:
Cody Rhodes is currently scheduled to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens at the Bash In Berlin special on August 31.
The match was made after a segment on 8/9 SmackDown where Rhodes offered KO a title shot but Owens refused, saying that he hadn’t earned the opportunity. He would reluctantly agree to the bout when SmackDown GM Nick Aldis suggested that the match could be given to Roman Reigns instead.
Apart from this confrontation, WWE has announced a couple of championship matches and more for the 8/23 episode of SmackDown.
The Bloodline will be defending the WWE Tag Team Championships against The Street Profits at the show while Santos Escobar will challenge LA Knight for the US Title.
The show will also feature Jade Cargill in action, who will be teaming with Naomi & Bianca Belair to take on Blair Davenport, Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn in six women tag team match.
