Cody Rhodes believes Italy deserves a WWE PLE.
One major change WWE has seen since the recent ownership transition is more focus on the international markets. Many of the shows traditionally held inside US have been taken overseas by the promotion. Just in this year they have held Premium Live Events in France, Australia, Scotland, and Canada.
It’s not only Televised events that have gotten the treatment and officials have been testing waters with house shows as well. In May, they held a live event in Bologna, Italy and the reception to the show makes Cody Rhodes believe that the country deserves a PLE of its own.
During a recent interview with Gabby LaSpisa on Gabby AF, the current Undisputed WWE Champion made the case for a Televised event in Italy:
“I really hope that Italy gets a WWE….we did a show in Italy, a live event. They were, if people saw Scotland, Scotland was outrageous. If people saw France, France was outrageous. I wish people got to see what Italy was like.”
Rhodes who was an Executive Vice President in AEW noted that he does not have any power in WWE but his experience in Italy was really cool:
“I didn’t know what we were walking into. I didn’t even know if we were on TV in Italy. They would be a great place for a PLE. I make no decisions and can’t get anything done, but that was a really cool experience,”
SummerSlam 2024 coming from Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio, was the first WWE PLE held inside US since WrestleMania 40. Though WWE is not looking to stay in the US and their next big show titled Bash In Berlin will be coming live from Germany on August 31.
