Drew McIntyre has reacted to the photo of him and CM Punk standing together before a Raw taping that went viral on the internet.
The Scottish Psychopath and the Straight Edge Star have been involved in an intense rivalry ever since the latter returned to WWE at Survivor Series 2023. That’s why many fans complained about the two breaking kayfabe when the picture of them standing together came up.
McIntyre addressed the comments while speaking to Fox News Digital to promote Saturday’s Bad Blood PPV. Drew explained that at the end of the day, they’re both employees of WWE and are forced to share a space despite hating each other:
“I remember there was some picture that came out online recently, and it was the big talk of the internet because Punk and I were close to each other during the day and it was, ‘Oh my God they really don’t dislike each other.’
I was like yeah you frickin’ idiots. You don’t go to your office job and have to stand beside the guy you don’t like in your office occasionally just because someone snapped a picture of that moment because we’re dealing with a situation you have to deal with in your profession even if you can’t stand the p—k.”
Drew McIntyre and CM Punk have had two matches since Punk returned to the company. The Scottish star picked up the victory in the first encounter at SummerSlam. Seth Rollins was the special guest referee for the bout.
Punk then came back with a victory of his own at the WWE Bash In Berlin PPV in Germany. This time they faced each other in a strap match.
The duo are currently scheduled to face each other in what fans believe would be the final encounter of their current series this Saturday. The Bad Blood match will be contested inside the Hell In A structure, with the only goal being to pin or submit your opponent.
