Giulia has finally arrived in NXT.
The popular Japanese star had long been rumoured to make the WWE move but her relationship with Rossy Ogawa delayed those plans considerably.
After leaving Stardom, Ogawa started his own promotion dubbed Marigold. Giulia decided to stay behind to help her old friend and mentor launch the new company before she moved to US.
The latest WWE PPV No Mercy featured Roxanne Perez defending her NXT Women’s Championship against Jaida Parker. She successfully retained the title after delivering not one but two Pop Rox on her opponent.
Once the bell rang however, the lights went out and a new music took over the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. Smoke filled the entranceway as Giulia finally made her long-awaited debut for the brand.
She confronted the women’s champion getting into the ring, making her intention of going after the title very clear. Perez wasn’t backing down however and she held the Women’s title high, making it clear that it was her house the Japanese star was walking into.
Apart from this confrontation, the event featured 5 different title matches. The main event saw Ethan Page defending the NXT Championship against viral star Joe Hendry. Trick Williams was the special guest referee for the bout.
Page took advantage in the match when Williams was distracted and hit Hendry with a low blow. He followed it up with an Ego’s Edge for the win.
Williams reluctantly held up Page’s hand after the bell rang only to get attacked by Pete Dunne. Dunne stood tall over the former champion to end the show.
