Former WWE employee Janel Grant has asked WWE and their parent company Endeavor to wave all the nondisclosure agreements concerning sexual abuse allegations currently in effect.
Representative of Miss Grant sent the intended letter to WWE President Nick Khan, Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque, and Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel among others this Monday morning.
The waver of NDAs would allow other potential victims of the former WWE Chairman to come forward with allegations. In a statement to the Associated Press, Grant’s attorney Ann Callis said that the move will help show Endavor’s commitment to changing the work culture created by the former WWE owner:
“If WWE and its parent company Endeavor are serious about parting ways with Vince McMahon and the toxic workplace culture he created, their executives should have no problem with releasing former WWE employees from their NDAs. This is the first step to rehabilitating a company that covered up decades of sexual assault and human trafficking.”
Janel Grant’s Lawsuit
Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against the billionaire wrestling promoter this past January. Grant worked at WWE global headquarters from 2019 and 2022 and she alleges that McMahon, using his position coerced her into a sexual relationship during this period.
Furthermore, she alleges that Vince used his authority to sexually traffic her to former WWE executive John Laurinaitis among other names.
Grant has signed an NDA with the company in 2022 in return for which Mr. McMahon had agreed to pay her $3 million. She alleges that the former Executive stopped paying her after only $1 million when the reports of the NDAs signed by Grant and other former employees became public the same year.
Mr. McMahon initially stepped down from his duties at WWE when the reports first came out. He later used his controlling shares to reinstate himself as the chairman of the board in early 2023. McMahon would have to leave the company again when Grant filed her lawsuit and made her allegations public.
