Jay White made his surprise return to AEW TV during the Dynamite Anniversary show this week and renewed his rivalry with Hangman Adam Page.
AEW celebrated the 5-year anniversary of their flagship show with some big matches tonight. One of the matches on the card was Page taking on Juice Robinson.
Adam Page won the match after delivering a Buckshot Lariat. He wasn’t done with Robinson even after the bell, however, and Hangman attacked his opponent with his cowboy buckle belt.
This is when Jay White made an unannounced appearance. White’s music hit and as Page looked towards the entrance ramp, the former IWGP World Champion attacked him from behind.
Jay White then set up a table at the ringside barricade and put the former AEW World Champion through it. The segment ended with White and Robinson standing in the ring.
Prior to his absence, Jay along with The Gunns held the AEW trios championship. The trio was stripped of the title by Christopher Daniels when they tried to make Juice Robinson a champion as well using the Freebird rule.
The former NJPW star was last seen on AEW programming during the July 7 episode of Collision. He suffered defeat at the hands of Hangman Page after the latter used his belt to attack him.
The AEW star was taken off TV after this match because of a foot injury. Now that he has returned, we can expect to see him go after Page to get his win back.
