John Cena has confirmed that he will be part of the lineup when WWE Monday Night Raw debuts on Netflix early next year.
The 16-time world champion was asked about the WWE’s flagship show moving to Netflix during a chat with Complex. He confirmed that he will be part of Raw’s premiere on the streaming platform:
“I can tell you I’ll be there for the debut. I think it’s 1/6. I’m not sure, I think so; don’t quote me on that, but it’s a history-making day for WWE. I’m so very proud of WWE. Man, I’m such a fan of the merger. I love the two companies, WWE and Netflix, and it’s an event that I will not miss. I will be there.”
WWE announced a number of monumental TV deals for all three of their brands this year. The announced deal will see SmackDown leaving Fox to return to USA Network next year while NXT moves to their new home in The CW in October.
Potentially the biggest change, however, is the unprecedented Netflix deal. It will see Raw leaving traditional cable TV for the streaming platform in a massive $5 Billion deal expanding 10 years.
John Cena has announced that 2025 will be his last active year in wrestling. He will be competing for WWE throughout the year and have as many as 36 dates on his retirement tour.
Once his in-ring career ends, however, the Cenation Leader will not step foot in the ring again for anything. He will even retire the iconic Jorts look when he hangs up his boots.
