WWE SmackDown (8/30) Highlight And Results: Bash In Berlin Go Home

WWE presented the final SmackDown episode before the Bash In Berlin PPV from Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany. As has become a tradition for the go-home shows, the event featured a couple of title matches alongside the final build for some top feuds. Here are the highlights and results from the show:

  • United States Championship Match: LA Knight (c) vs. Ludwig Kaiser: LA Knight issued the open challenge. Kaiser responded with a huge pop from the crowd on his entrance. Knight managed to retain with a BFT.
  • Tag Team Match: Angel and Berto (w/ Legado Del Fantasma) vs. Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews: ‎Elektra Lopez caused the distraction by hopping onto the apron and distracting the referee. Santos Escobar used the opportunity to send Corbin crashing into the ring steps outside. Berto rolls up Crews for the pin but Apollo Crews kicks out. After some back and forth, Angel hits Crews with a knee and pins him.
  • Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens Confrontation: SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis introduces both the Bash In Berlin opponents. Cody talks about the Universal title and Owens claims that he hurt his knee during a recent live event. Rhodes says he is 100% and the two exchange some more words. Cody questions if they’ll still be friends after Saturday. Owens whispers something into Cody’s ear before storming off.
  • Singles Match: Carmelo Hayes vs. Andrade: Both men wasted no time going into action and the match was filled with many high-risk spots. In the end, Hayes sent Andrade crashing into an exposed turnbuckle and followed it up with a Nothing But Net for the win.
  • WWE Women’s Championship Street Fight: Nia Jax (c) vs. Michin: Michin uses a kendo stick to get the upper hand early on but Jax comes back with some offense of her own. They use objects like a chair, garbage cans, and more throughout the bout. Towards the end, Tiffany Stratton runs down to the ring and hits Nia with the Money In The Bank briefcase. She thinks about cashing her contract but decides against it when Jax sees her. Stratton then puts Jax on top of Michin but Michin kicks out. Bayley makes her return to TV and levels Stratton before dumping her outside. Nia Jax places a garbage can on her opponent and connects with an An-Nia-Lator to finally pick up the win. She hits Michin hits Michin with a kendo stick a couple more times before standing tall.
