WWE presented the September 13 episode of SmackDown from Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. The USA Network premiere episode featured a number of big matches and the return of Roman Reigns. Here are the full results of the episode:
- Triple H Promo: The WWE Chief Content officer welcomes fans to the show. He remembers being at the first ever episode of SmackDown and says there is no better way to start this new era with the WWE Championship match.
- Cage Match for Undisputed WWE Championship – Cody Rhodes def. Solo Sikoa: Rhodes won with a cross Rhoades. Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, and Jacob Fatu scale the cage after the bell and Sikoa attacks Cody from behind. Fatu delivers a frog splash from the top rope and Sikoa then tells him to go to the top of the cage. Before he can fly, however, Roman Reigns’ music hits. He starts clearing out the house as Cody also recovers and Cross Rhodes to Loa. Cody and Roman stand tall unsure of each other as the segment ends.
- Singles Match: Michin def. Piper Niven: Chelsea Green tried to interfere but Michin took her out with a kendo stick. Michin wins the match with Eat Defeat but gets attacked by Chelsea right after. The segment ends with Green delivering a Unprettier to Michin on top of a garbage can.
- Tag Team Match – Randy Orton and Kevin Owens def. A Town Under: KO first introduces Ricky as his mystery tag partner. When he learns that Orton is here, Owens takes out Ricky with a stunner. Orton delivers an RKO on Greyson Waller for the win.
- Backstage segment: Nick Aldis announces Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes vs. The Bloodline for Bad Blood. Cody comes up and informs Aldis that he won’t be teaming with Roman.
- Nia Jax promo: Jax talks about all her achievements of the past year but gets interrupted by Bayley. Bayley demands a women’s title match and reminds Jax that she couldn’t win the title without Tiffany Stratton. Tiffanny comes out followed by Naomi and they all exchange words. Jax suggests a tag team match with & Tiffany taking on Bayley and Naomi. Whoever gets the pin in the match gets a title shot while the losers have to leave SmackDown.
- Singles Match – Andrade def. Carmelo Hayes: Andrade wins with The Message. LA Knight comes out afterward to inform the Mexican star that he will be getting a shot at the US title next week.
- Roman Reigns promo: Nick Aldis hands Roman the contract for the tag match and Reigns says he doesn’t need anyone’s help to take care of family business. He proclaims that the ring and WWE still belong to him. This prompts Cody Rhodes to come out and flaunts his WWE title. Solo Sikoa comes out with Jacob Fatu while Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa try to sneak attack Rhodes and Reigns. After taking them out, Roman signs the contract. Cody puts his title down and then asks for the contract. Reigns gives it to him and the WWE champion signs it as well.
