WWE presented the September 27, 2024 episode of SmackDown from Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The focal point of the show was Cody Rhodes’ changing relationship with his old friends due to his decision to team up with Roman Reigns against Bloodline at Bad Blood. Below are the complete results from the show:
- Randy Orton Promo: Orton mentions he hasn’t been on SmackDown for a few weeks. He then calls out Cody Rhodes, demanding an explanation for his actions. Rhodes says he understands Orton’s concerns and hopes that it’s not a problem. Orton says it’s not a problem unless he makes it. Kevin Owens comes but before he can speak, Solo Sikoa and the Bloodline interrupt. Solo tells Cody that KO and Randy are no use for him. Owens then challenges The Bloodline for a tag team match. Cody tries to make it a six men tag but Owens stops him saying that he’ll get the chance at Bad Blood.
- Backstage Segment: Ms. Money In The Bank Tiffany Stratton and Women’s Champion Nia Jax have a heated exchange backstage.
- #1 Contenders Match for the WWE Women’s Championship – Naomi vs. Bayley: Bayley wins the match with the combo of a Bayley-To-Belly and an elbow drop. A disappointed Naomi is shown to retreating to the ramp after the loss.
- Singles Match – Carmelo Hayes vs. Andrade: LA Knight came out towards the end of the bout and got up on the apron. The distraction allowed Hayes to roll Andrade for the win. Knight offers to shake Andrade’s hand after the bout but the former NXT Champion brushes past him.
- Singles Match – Piper Niven (w/ Chelsea Green) vs. Michin: Green set up a garbage can outside the ring. Niven looked to send Michin into it but ended up crashing into it herself. Michin then took out Green with a big boot and landed an Eat Defeat on Niven for the win.
- Backstage Segment: Bayley apologizes to Naomi and the two seem to make up. Naomi then runs into Tiffany Stratton and they get into a verbal confrontation.
- Tag Team Match – The Bloodline vs. Kevin Owens & Randy Orton: Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu are representing Bloodline. After a long match, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa run down to distract Owens and Cody Rhodes comes out to fight them. After Rhodes takes them both out, Solo catches him with a tope suicida. When Sikoa throws Rhodes into the ring, the WWE champion crashes into the referee. Owens gets distracted by this. The Bloodline takes advantage and Sikoa pins KO after a couple of superkicks. The Bloodline celebrates at the ringside while Owens goes off at Rhodes. Orton tries to make peace but gets shoved down by Kevin as the broadcast ends.
