AEW presented the 2024 WrestleDream PPV from Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington this Saturday on October 12. Bryan Danielson wrestled the final match of his full-time wrestling career tonight and dropped the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley. Below are the full results of the show:
- Singles Match – Adam Page def. Jay White: After a gurgling match, Page hits White with a Deadeye. He looks to follow it up with the Buckshot Lariat but Jay sees it coming. He catches Adam Page with a Blade Runner and picks up the win.
- AEW Women’s World Championship Match – Mariah May (c) def. Willow Nightingale: Nightingale does a couple pin attempts but May kicks out everytime. The Women’s Champion hits Willow with an avalanche hurricanrana. She follows it up with a running knee and Storm Zero for the win.
- TNT Championship Match – Jack Perry (c) def. Katsuyori Shibata: Perry wins in a relatively short match. The ending sees Perry delivering a hanging DDT on Shibata off the ring apron and going for the pin. Shibata kicks out and locks Perry into a sleeper. Jack Perry reverses it to get the pin. He continues attacking Shibata after the match and Daniel Garcia comes out to make the save. MJF’s music hits and he comes out to confront Garica. Jack Perry attacks a distracted Garcia from behind and leaves. MJF reveals he has found his lost Dynamite Diamond Ring back and looks to attack Daniel with it. Adam Cole makes his return and comes out to the ring. MJF retreats as Cole helps Garcia up.
- AEW International Championship Match – Konosuke Takeshita def. Will Ospreay (c) & Ricochet: The ending of the bout sees Takeshita sending Ricochet crashing through a table he set on outside. He walks back into the ring to a pair of Hidden Blades from Ospreay. Don Callis appears and pulls the referee out of the ring to stop Ospreay from pinning Takeshita. Callis brings out a screwdriver to attack Ospreay and Will wrestles him for it. A hooded figure appears and hits Ospreay with the screwdriver. The figure reveals themselves to be Kyle Fletcher. Takeshita then lands a jumping knee on the champion for the win.
- Swerve Strickland Promo: Strickland says it feels weird to be without the AEW world title but he is happy at being in his hometown. MVP alongside Shelton Benjamin interrupts his promo and mentions how Swerve’s career has been floundering recently. He invites Swerve to talk business. Strickland recalls advice MVP gave him during his time in indies and says Benjamin is his childhood hero. He refuses to turn on Prince Nana, however, because he is family. MVP warms him that not being with him is being against him. The security runs down to stop the two from brawling.
- 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match – Hologram def. The Beast Mortos: Hologram gets the early fall after splashing Mortos from the top. Mortos comes back with a pair of backbreakers and delivers a mean clothesline to pick up the second fall. Mortos catches his opponent with a Samoan Drop and goes for the pin. Hologram kicks out. He delivers a spinning sit-out powerbomb to Mortos for the third fall and the win.
- Singles Match – Darby Allin def. Brody King: The two men waste no time going brutal and at one point King crushes Allin with the steel ring steps on the outside. Darby comes back however and sends King crashing into the steps. He delivers a Cofin drop to King on top of the steel stairs. Darby Allin dumps his opponent back into the ring and follows it up with another Coffin Drop for the win. King offers to Shake Darby’s hand after the match and Allin accepts.
- AEW World Tag Team Championship Match – The Young Bucks (c) def. Private Party: Private Party attacks the Bucks during their entrance. The Bucks decide to leave the match but their opponents meet them at the ramp. Marq Quen lands a Swanton off the top of the entrance tunnel on Matthew while Isiah Kassidy attacks Nicholas and dumps him back into the ring. The match finally kicks off and mid-way, we see Stokely Hathaway, Top Flight, Lio Rush, and Leila Grey watching the bout from the crowd. The ending sees the Bucks delivering one EVP Trigger on Kassidy and going for the pin. Kassidy kicks out and avoids a second EVP Trigger attempt from the duo. He rolls up Matthew to try and get the pin but the champion kicks out. The Bucks finally deliver a second EVP Trigger for the win. An emotional Private Party stay in the ring for several minutes after the match before leaving.
- ROH World Championship Match – Mark Briscoe def. Chris Jericho (w/ Big Bill): Jim Ross has joined the commentary for the final two matches. Big Bill sets up a table at the ringside and tries to distract Mark, Orange Cassidy comes out to brawl with Bill and takes him out. Jericho grabs a chair and looks to hit Mark but Mark takes it away. Mark sets the chair in the ring and uses it as a ramp to send Jericho through the table set by Big Bill. Mark looks up at the sky remembering his late brother Jay Briscoe and then delivers a Jay Driller for the win.
- AEW World Championship Match – Jon Moxley def. Bryan Danielson (c): The two waste no time going after each other and start brawling while Final Countdown is still playing in the arena. In the end, Bryan delivers a Busaiku Knee and goes for the pin but Mox kicks out. Bryan goes for another one but Moxley sees it coming this time. Jon tells Danielson to ‘not make him do this’ and then hits a Piledriver on the AEW champion. Mox locks him in the sleeper hold and the ref calls for the bell as Bryan fades. Justin Roberts declares Jon Moxley the new AEW World Champion. Pac, Claudio and Marina Shafir join the new champ in the ring. Mox brings out a plastic bag again and looks to use it on Danielson but Wheeler Yuta and Darby Allin come out to even the odds. Yuta checks on Bryan while Darby stares Moxley. Allin turns back but eats a running knee from Yuta. Mox hands the bag to Yuta and he starts choking Bryan with it. Private Party and Jeff Jarrett come out to make the save but Mox takes them out. They bring a chair into a ring and place it around Bryan’s neck. Claudio Castagnoli delivers a brutal stomp to Bryan. The whole AEW babyface roster stars coming down to ring including HOOK, Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe, Daniel Garcia, and many more as Mox and others retreat. The medical team places Bryan onto a stretcher as Darby and Cassidy look from the ringside in disbelief. The show goes off air.
