WWE is currently organizing a luchador-exclusive tournament to determine the challenger for World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns at the September 14 episode of Monday Night Raw that will be held in Mexico City.
A latest report from WrestleVotes on Fightful Select provided a backstage update on the plans for the Tribal Chief after this tournament. They noted that LA Knight, who has been demanding a match against Roman Reigns on TV recently, is very likely to get his title shot at the October 10 Money In The Bank PPV:
“Sources indicated to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select that a matchup between L.A. Knight and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns is currently on the table, with a ‘strong sense internally’ that it will take place at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event on October 10th.”
Penta remains the favorite to win the ongoing tournament and face Reigns at the event in Mexico. While it seems unlikely that he will dethrone the Head of the Table, it will raise his profile within the WWE sphere.
