Bayley has earned the right to challenge Nia Jax for the Women’s World Championship at the upcoming Bad Blood PPV in a week’s time.
Last week’s episode of SmackDown featured a tag team match where Bayley & Naomi defeated the duo of Nia Jax & Tiffany Stratton. What’s interesting about the match is that the finish saw the baby faces pinning Jax simultaneously.
A star who manages to pin a champion generally gets a title opportunity against them. To determine which one of the two gets the title shot, General Manager Nick Aldis announced a #1 contenders match between the two for this week’s episode of the Blue Branded Show.
Both the contestants competed in a hard-fought match at the show. The ending of the bout saw Naomi going to the top for a splash but Bayley moved out of the way. The Horsewomen then took advantage and delivered the combo of Bayley-To-Belly and a top rope Elbow Drop to pick up the win.
Bayley And Nia Jax
The 35-year-old will now be challenging the Irresistible Force for her championship at the upcoming Premium Live Event from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on October 5.
The road to victory won’t be easy for either the champion or the challenger however as WWE teased obstacles for both of them during the same episode.
Jax was involved in a heated confrontation with Tiffany Stratton backstage on SmackDown. The company has been teasing Stratton cashing in her Money In The Bank contract on Nia for some time and the upcoming big event might the perfect time for this.
Bayley on the other hand will have to worry about the feelings of Naomi. The former Impact Knockouts champion wasn’t happy with her loss on the show. While Bayley did apologize to her after the bout, the former tag champ didn’t look convinced about her sincerity.
