Beloved WWE announcer Samantha Irvin has announced her departure from the promotion.
The female star, real name Samantha Johnson originally joined WWE back in April 2021. She was first assigned to the now-defunct 205 Live brand and later moved to NXT. Johnson was promoted as a main roster ring announcer in January 2022. She had become one of the most beloved non-wrestling figures of the company since then.
Samantha announced her immediate departure from the promotion in a social media statement early on Monday. She thanked a number of on-screen and behind-the-scenes names in her statement. This included people such as Triple H, Michael Hayes, Paul Heyman, and Michael Cole who she thanked for teaching her about the business and accepting her into the WWE family.
Lilián Garcia replaced Irvin on the October 21 show. Garcia has had multiple long stints with WWE in the past. During her appearance, it was announced that she has signed a new full-time contract with the company.
The sudden departure of Samantha Irvin has puzzled people with fans wondering what her next move will be. She has a background in Music and Samantha has appeared on shows such as America’s Got Talent before. So it’s possible that Irvin will be returning to the music world in some capacity after her WWE exit.
Samantha’s fiancé Ricochet left WWE earlier this year too. The high-flying star has joined rival promotion AEW after leaving the Endeavor-owned company in June this year. So it’s also possible that Irvin will follow Ricochet’s footsteps and make an appearance on Tony Khan’s company sooner or later.
