Stephanie Vaquer Wins NXT Debut Match

Stephanie Vaquer has won her debut match in NXT.

The Mexican professional wrestler made her first appearance for the brand last week. She helped Giulia take out the duo of NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade.

This week’s episode of the development show featured the 31-year competing in her first televised match for WWE. She went up against Wren Sinclair.

Sinclair did her best to spoil Vaquer’s arrival but she proved to be no match for the former CMLL Women’s Champion. Stephanie in the end, pinned Wren Sinclair with a backbreaker.

The duo of Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade jumped the debuting star after her match. Giulia then came out to make the save for her partner.

After this match, Giulia challenged Perez and Jade to a tag team match at the upcoming NXT Halloween Havoc special on October 27. WWE would later make this match official.

Stephanie Vaquer officially signed with WWE back in July this year. She started competing on Live Events immediately but her TV debut was delayed. Her first appearance came via satellite during the September 24 episode of NXT before she arrived in person last week.

Tonight’s show also saw Ethan Page defeating Je’Von Evans and Wes Lee in a #1 contenders match for the NXT Championship. Page will now challenge the current champion Trick Williams for the title at the special later this month.
