The Rock already helped deliver one of the biggest WrestleMania main events this year and it appears that he has plans to take things to the next level in future.
The People’s Champion joined WWE President Nick Khan for an interview with ESPN recently. The two discussed the huge success of WrestleMania 40 and the plans for next year’s edition of the Show of Shows.
The Hollywood star claimed that they’re on 1 yard line to create the ‘biggest match of all time’ at WrestleMania 41, that will be held in the Allegiant Stadium in LA:
“We’re on the 1-yard line to create the biggest WrestleMania of all time and the biggest match of all time at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. I’ll just leave it at that, Final Boss style.”
Nick Khan first discussed how Rock’s return earlier this year blew the expectations out of water before talking about what the future:
“We believed fan expectations for his return would be extremely high. What Rock was able to accomplish blew through those high expectations. … I’m certain Rock was already penciling out the next mountain to build with WWE should he have come out of WrestleMania 40 healthy, which, fortunately he did.”
The Great One competed in night 1 of WrestleMania 40 from the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. He teamed up with his cousin Roman Reigns to defeat the duo of Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
The win helped them gain major advantage for the night 2 main event between Cody and Roman. Unfortunately for the Rock, a number of WWE legends stepped up to stop The Final Boss from helping his cousin and it allowed Rhodes to finally defeat the Tribal Chief.
The next night on WWE Raw, The Rock confronted Cody Rhodes to indicate that their rivalry was far from over. It’s possible that we will see a one-on-one encounter between them at WrestleMania 41.
