Thunder Rosa has made an impressive return to the ring and won a championship in her comeback match, after spending the last few weeks on the shelf.
The AEW star made her return to in-ring action at the Riot Cabaret Thunder Road event on October 15. She went up against Nina Samuels in the main event of the show and defeated the indie star to become the new Riot Cabaret Women’s Champion:
Rosa had been sidelined for more than a month prior to this match. She last competed during the August 31 edition of AEW Collision. The fatal four-way match saw Hikaru Shida defeating Rosa, alongside Queen Aminata and Serena Deeb.
The new champion had suffered a concussion in the bout. She revealed that she had been cleared to return to action on Busted Open last week while also thanking the AEW medical team for their support.
Thunder Rosa previously spent the 5 months between August and December in 2023 on the shelf due to back issues. The female star held the AEW Women’s World Championship at the time. While AEW initially crowned an interim champion while assessing her situation, Rosa was later stripped of the title.
It’s unknown when Thunder Rosa will make her return to TV but it’s possible that we’ll see her making an appearance at tomorrow’s episode of Dynamite.
